Spectrum's Sleep Out 2020

Champlain College Sleeps Out 2020

Update 3/20:

In light of COVID-19, Spectrum has decided to make the Downtown Burlington Sleep Out a virtual event and our Champlain College Sleeps Out Team will join in a virtual sleepout as well, with ours on April 2nd at 8pm.

Although the sleepout will no longer be held in a group on campus, Spectrums youth still need your help!

When times are tough economically, Spectrums youth are among the first to feel the hit — already they have had young people whose rental housing is threatened by their workplaces shutting down. Spectrum expects to see the number of youth seeking food, shelter, and emergency help to rise even if the virus never becomes a full blown epidemic in our state.

To join in on the virtual sleepout here is what you will do:

-Post photos or video of where you will be sleeping out and tag them: #SpectrumSleepOut and/or #StandBySpectrumYouth.

-Send photos and videos to Team Captain Liza Ryan at (716) 380-2541

-The morning after your sleepout, write a narrative about your experience sleeping out and why supporting Burlington's youth is important

-Please continue to fundraise so that our youth get the help they need when they need it most.

For any questions please contact Liza Ryan at liza.ryan@mymail.champlain.edu

We are sleeping out in solidarity with homeless youth and youth at risk of becoming homeless in Vermont.

With your help, we are making sure that every teenager and young adult in our community has a place to go when they need help most.

Please help us reach our goal!
