About the Spectrum Sleep Out 2017

The Sleep Out is an annual event that raises funds to provide young adults a safe place to live and access to the services that will help them build their own success.
On Thursday, March 23 more than 100 business and community leaders from the Burlington area and beyond will come together for Spectrum’s Executive Sleep Out. They will spend the night outside, sleeping on the ground, in solidarity with teenagers and young adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The weekend following the Executive Sleep Out, about 400 of students will join the movement as part of the Student Sleep Out. The students will unroll their sleeping bags at locations across Chittenden County to show their support for homeless youth.
Our goal is to raise $265,000 to provide homeless and at risk youth the services they need to build future success and independence. The event requires so few expenses to pull it off that 99% of every dollar will go directly to programs that help homeless and at risk youth.
Each Executive Sleep Out participant raises a minimum of $2000 (enough to support a youth for about 6 months in Spectrum’s supportive housing). We ask each student to raise $25, though there is no fundraising minimum for students.

Participant Check-in: 9:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Introductions and Remarks: 9:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Set up for the night: 10:30 pm - 11:00 pm
Sleep Out: 11:00 pm
Breakfast: 5:30 am - 7:00 am
Fundraising Goal: Minimum fundraising goal $2,000
The Student Sleep Out
Dates: Thursday, March 23 – Sunday, March 26
Locations: Location of your choosing. Previous Sleep Outs have been held in backyards, football fields, church lawns, and town greens.
